Hexbeam

The Hexbeam is a compact directional wire antenna using folded elements supported by six spreaders.

Each band generally uses a driven element and reflector. Folded geometry reduces turning radius while retaining useful directivity.

Dimensions differ between classic and broadband versions. Plans must not be mixed between the two geometries.

Construction and tuning

Step 1

Build a strong central hub.

Install six identical insulated spreaders.

Measure every wire pair accurately.

Maintain vertical spacing.

Step 5

Install multiband feed and a choke.

The modern Hexbeam geometry was popularized by several amateur experimenters. Broadband variants later improved band coverage.
